Parvovirus B19 real-time PCR kit
Parvovirus B19 real-time PCR kit

The new parvovirus real-time PCR kit complements medac’s hugely comprehensive portfolio of transplantion diagnostics. Now, with the PCR kits distributed by medac, a total of 12 infection parameters can be detected simultaneouly in one PCR device during one run.
Detection of parvovirus B19 is based on the amplification of a conservative DNA sequence of the single gene for the capsid protein VP1. The presence of parvovirus B19 in the sample is indicated by the FAM fluorosphore fluorescence growth. An Internal Standard (IS) is added to the sample and controls the PCR amplification as well as the DNA extraction process quality (ISEX version). IS positive amplification is detected in the HEX fluorophore fluorescence channel.
The PCR is based on “hot start” technology to minimise non-specific reactions and achieve maximum sensitivity. The ready-to-use master mix contains uracil-DNA-glycosylase (UDG) to eliminate a possible contamination of the PCR by amplification products.
Whole blood and plasma are suitable as specimen.
The kit is designed for in vitro diagnostics and provides qualitative and quantitative detection.
