New HCV and HIV PCR kit
New HCV and HIV PCR kit

With the new HCV diagnostics PCR kit and the HIV PCR kit that is now available again, medac Diagnostics is complementing its range for the diagnosis of blood-borne infections.
The new HCV diagnostics PCR kit detects the seven formerly well-known genotypes as well as the eighth genotype that was identified in late 2018. The PCR is very reliable and highly sensitive thanks to the unique detection based on two target sequences.
A positive sample is indicated by the FAM fluorosphore fluorescence growth. An internal control (IC) included in the PCR kit is added to the sample to monitor the entire diagnostic process (RNA extraction control, reverse transcription and PCR amplification control). IC positive amplification is detected in the HEX fluorophore fluorescence channel.
The PCR is based on “hot start” technology to minimise non-specific reactions and achieve maximum sensitivity. The ready-to-use master mix contains uracil-DNA-glycosylase (UDG) to eliminate false-positive results.
Plasma and serum are validated specimen.
The kit is designed for in vitro diagnostics and provides qualitative and quantitative detection.
