New Multiplex Diagnostics for HPV-Genotyping and detection of Tick-borne bacteria

medac Diagnostics offers a new HPV genotyping assay (HPV Direct Flow Chip) and a new test for the detection of Tick-borne bacteria (Tick-borne Bacteria Flow Chip).
The HPV Direct Flow Chip kit detects 18 high risk and 18 low risk HPV types. The IVD/CE-certified assay is based on end point PCR using GP5+/GP6+ consensus primers with subsequent detection by automated reverse dot blot hybridization (e-BRID System™). The system offers quick results within 2 - 3½ hours, low hands-on time and flexible sample throughput (1 to 15 samples per run). In the WHO LabNet Proficiency Study, the test has demonstrated the highest rate of correctly assigned HPV types (J Clin Microbiol 2014; 52: 449) and displays high sensitivity for HPV16 and HPV 18 even in multiple infections.
The Tick-borne Bacteria Flow Chip (IVD/CE) which is based on the same basic methodology can simultaneously detect following Tick-borne bacteria: Anaplasma, incl. Candidatus neoehrlichia micurensis, Ehrlichia, Bartonella, Borrelia, Coxiella, Francisella and Rickettsia.
