New Factor XIII V34L real-time PCR kit

medac Diagnostics offers a new real-time PCR kit, which detects the polymorphism of the F13A1 gene encoding the subunit A of FXIII factor. With this kit medac completes its human genetics portfolio of thrombotic mutation analysis.

The detection is based on the amplification and detection of the target sequence using allele specific fluorophore labelled probes. The target sequence is a single nucleotide replacement of quanine by thymin in site 103 (G103T). The presence of the wild-type allele (G103G) is detected in the FAM fluorescent channel and the mutant allele (T103T) in the HEX fluorescent channel. In the case of an heterozygous genotype (G103T) a signal is detected in both channels. The Detection kit contains a Ready to Use MasterMix and utilizes "hot start" technology, minimizing non-specific reactions and assuring maximum sensitivity.
The kit is validated for whole blood specimen and is designed for in vitro diagnostics.
